Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze

DefendAL™ HD NF ELC is an extended life coolant that contains a proprietary organic acid technology (OAT) inhibitor system with yellow metal corrosion inhibitors and dispersants that makes it significantly more durable than other coolants. In heavy-duty diesel applications it can provide a service life of 600,000 miles with NO extender, eliminating the requirements of SCA additions. Our product has been designed to be used in applications where Nitrite FREE coolants are required.

DefendAL™ HD NF ELC contains no added phosphates, silicates, nitrites or borates. The addition of non-traditional organic acids minimizes the compatibility issues around seals and gaskets and is more environmentally friendly. The multi-part dispersant package minimizes the potential scale formation in the cooling system. This product can mixed in with other coolants, including Nitrite containing products with no detrimental effects to cooling efficiencies or overall performance. DefendAL™ HD NF ELC is ideal for use in initial fills, coolant change-outs or top-offs in heavy-duty diesel powered engines. It is also compatible with many different types of OEM coolants as well as many other leading major manufacturers of coolants.

DefendAL™ HD NF ELC is recommended to be mixed with deionized water prior to use. KOST USA offers a premix (50/50) for ready to use applications for people who do not have sufficient water quality. Minimally the water quality must meet the requirements found in ASTM D6210 or ATA TMC RP329.
